THE PLAYER SPEAKS | Nothing.

SCOUTING REPORT | Don’t ask me why Williams doesn’t have any other offers. I said that Williams might have a Houston offer as this is shown under his ESPN profile, but that’s it. I can’t believe a kid that can move that well is only offered by one college. This doesn’t make any sense and it’s not like Butler C.C. is an unknown, it’s a very good football JUCO. So good, that the defense is allowing just 11.4 points as of October 4th and 223 yards a game.

What I see is a guy that’s incredibly quick off the ball, can play inside or outside. Williams is strong at the point of attack and he does an excellent job of fighting through double teams at the line of scrimmage. He’s always in pursuit of the ball and gets up and down the line of scrimmage really well for a guy his size. He doesn’t give up on plays. Those are all really good things. He’s essentially a Kerry Hyder starter-kit in terms of what he looks like on film and what he’s doing at the JUCO level. Sometimes this takes time to translate, just as Demetrious Alston and Aaron Ross, but it can eventually translate. Maybe Owens breaks the mold.

I also noticed that Williams is a Georgia guy, just so happens to be in the same area as a guy that’s on staff, John Scott Jr. I’m thinking this is the connection.

So Williams looks like exactly what this team needs. They got a couple of JUCO defensive tackles to plug holes for the graduating Dennell Wesley and the aforementioned Hyder. Williams

William, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
