Texas Tech News, Notes & Links: Baseball Releases Schedule; Fehoko Family

The Fehoko family leaves one family in Hawaii only to arrive in Lubbock to a second home. The Texas Tech baseball schedule was released yesterday and Tim Tadlock isn't afraid to play anyone.

Fehoko Family. Nice little article from KCBD on Breiden Fehoko completing the family bond that the Fehoko family formed with Texas Tech and Breiden says it is like he is coming to a second home:

"It's going to be just like not leaving home, but going to another home," Breiden says. "Sam and VJ aren't going to let me slip off one beat and that's one thing I needed. If I want to make it in life and chase my dreams of football that's one thing I needed. People to be there with me along the way."

It's what VJ calls the circle of life, the legacy being reborn by the next brother in the Fehoko family line.

"I mean it's kind of like fulfilling a childhood dream," VJ says. "My brother playing here, me coming here, my younger brother playing here."

Baseball Schedule Released. Texas Tech released their 2015 baseball schedule and it's 56 games of goodness, including road trips to Cal-State Fullerton, a perennial power, and San Diego State.  Here's head coach Tim Tadlock:

"We welcome the challenge of playing in what we think is the best baseball conference in the country," Tadlock said. "Our non-conference slate will be a challenge from Opening Day until Game 56. We understand the bar has been set higher than ever before and welcome the challenge of receiving everyone's best shot. We feel like our fans are the best in the country. We have spoken to many people around Lubbock who have shared that they have purchased season ticket packages for their family for the first time. That is what it's all about, sharing our program's success with our fans. Our team and staff want our fans to know that every voice and body makes a difference."

Tim Tadlock is not afraid to play anyone.  Anyone.  And as a quick aside, I'm planning a second uniform post, because we do fashion better than anyone, and I want to mention here that I love Texas Tech's baseball uniforms. From the red and black tops over white and/or grey pants, to the pinstripes, to the greys, to the throwback uniforms.  Under Armour absolutely gets those absolutely right. They look terrific.

Previewing Championship Weekend. I will have an open thread up for this weekend, but here's one of my favorite's, Grantland's Matt Hinton, previewing Championship Weekend, who thinks that a Baylor win on Saturday against Kansas State should punch their ticket to the playoff.
