According to StadiumJourney.com, Texas Tech has the 8th most enjoyable gameday experience in the nation, 2nd in the Big XII. The only school ranked above Texas Tech are Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas, and Navy.
This is a big score for all of the people who continually pump up the gameday atmosphere of the Red Raiders. For forever, other members of the Big XII have trashed the gameday experience of Texas Tech, most likely due to the general rabidness of the fans. While this Stadium Journey ranking does not objectively prove that they are wrong, it's nice to see a neutral observer appreciate the quality of the gameday experience at Texas Tech.
I've long been a lover of Texas Tech's more... unique traditions, like the tortillas, the direction of Soapsud's butt, and the budding tradition of using "Trap" music in pregame. If you've been to the Jones this year, you've undoubtedly heard "Mobbin'" by Grandtheft, and seen how the energy in the stadium just builds to a boiling point when the beat drops. The top ten are as follows: (Big XII in italics)
1. Notre Dame
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Michigan
5. Texas A&M
6. Navy
7. Texas
8. Texas Tech
9. Baylor
10. Florida State
We're among prestigious company here, friends. I'm excited for next year already, and I'm thankful for the quality of fans we have.
