We've got all of the Texas Tech news, notes and links, including Minta Spears and Clark Lammert being nominated for an honor, plus some soccer standouts are honored.

Schedule. I usually take a week off after the football season to get into the swing of things for the offseason and now, we're starting the offseason much earlier than I'd like.  Still, there's a ton of things to write about and we'll get to those things starting next week.  I usually need a weekend to ramp up and that's what I'll do this weekend.

Congrats to Spears and Lammert! Congrats to Clark Lammert and Minta Spears who were two of seven student-athletes named to be considered to the Good Works Team, which is sponsored by Allstate and highlights the good works done by these student-athletes in their community.

$10. Oklahoma State and New Mexico State had this disagreement over their similar logos, namely that Oklahoma State sued New Mexico State over the use of their logo and they ended up settling whereby NMS would pay OSU $10 for the use each year and would agree to only give away 3,000 a year with the logo on it.  I think OSU was between a rock and a hard place here as NMS was using this logo and OSU didn't stop it, until this year.  That's why you have to protect your trademark.

Four Named to NSCAA All-Region Team. Congrats to soccer standouts, Janine Beckie, Jaelene Hinkle, Paige Strahan and Lauren Watson for being named to the first and second teams of the NSCAA All-Region team:

Texas Tech junior Janine Beckie and senior Jaelene Hinkle highlighted four Red Raiders selected to the NSCAA All-Region teams that were announced Wednesday by the organization.

Beckie and Hinkle both appeared on the first team while Paige Strahan was recognized on the second team and Lauren Watson was selected to the third team. Tech's four total selections marked the most in program history.
