A couple of days ago, there was a press release from Texas Tech Athletics, stating that Kliff Kingsbury and the staff are inviting people to participate in the “Carry The Fallen Ruck March.”
Do it. You won’t regret it.
The walk will benefit the Active Heroes association which is in the business of assisting veterans, active duty soldiers, and their families in providing coping skills to prevent suicide.
Every single day, 22 veterans take their lives. This march will raise funds to lower that statistic.
There are varying levels of difficulty in the march. It doesn’t matter if you’re an Olympic-caliber athlete or you haven’t walked a mile in three years. There is a place for you here. You can sign up in person, but it’s cheaper to sign up online.
Members of the Red Raider football program including S&C coach Rusty Whitt, an Army veteran. The event will be held August 27th at Spirit Ranch. You can register at this link.
I’m proud to support a team that does things like this. Don’t stick to sports. Ever.
