Is Texas Tech Getting A 4-Star WR For Christmas?

A top 200 recruit has recently showed Texas Tech some love.

Quartney Davis decommitted from Texas A&M on December 16th. A lot of people may not have noticed this because it was in the midst of the Kyler Murray saga of is-he-or-isn't leaving the Aggies. Since the 16th Davis has shown 6 schools love by tweeting out edits of him along with a school-related saying. On 12/23 Davis tweeted out some Texas Tech love.

I take this as Tech is in Davis' top 6 as of now, but I'm not sure how many schools he will add to that list. Davis is a 4-star recruit across the board on the recruiting sites. Rivals has him ranked as the 185th overall recruit, 24/7 has him as 162nd and Scout has Davis as the 81st ranked recruit. So either way you look at it, he's a top 200 recruit for the 2016 recruiting cycle.

If the Red Raiders were to land Davis I see him being a day 1 contributor. Derrick Willies and TJ Vasher are Tech's top 2 WRs in the 2016 class at the moment and I see both of them having impacts next year, Willies in particular. Davis stands at right around 6'2" and 180 pounds. He has the height to be an outside threat and that's what Tech needs at the moment.

There isn't a 2015 season highlight film up yet on his Hudl but there are individual game films of him. Below you can use the link to watch his game by game highlights.
