Baseball player Anthony Lyons was chosen to represent Texas Tech and the Big 12 in an upcoming meeting with the NCAA that could chance the course of how student-athletes are treated, plus men's basketball and football links, including Donny Anderson talking about the 1967 Ice Bowl.

Good morning everyone.

NCAA

TEXASTECH.COM Anthony Lyons To Represent Big 12 At Upcoming NCAA Convention - Texas Tech University Official Athletic Site - Lyons plays baseball for Texas Tech, but this isn't a baseball deal, this is a really big deal for all student-athletes as they are making more and more progress to having more rights as student-athletes. Congrats to Lyons for representing Texas Tech AND the Big 12.  Huge honor.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Tubby Smith Coaching His Team Through Learning Curve - EverythingLubbock.com - Don't forget that the men play Kansas tomorrow at 2:00 pm in Lawrence.

FOOTBALL

Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill to transfer - Well, that's interesting.  The link doesn't tell the entire story because Hill is transferring to TCU.  Hill started incredibly quickly but was replaced by true freshman Kyle Allen and much like Texas Tech, it appears that TAMU has a quarterback transfer problem (I'm kidding).
Anderson was almost Ice Bowl hero | Amarillo Globe-News - This is the "must read" article from today as Texas Tech legend Donny Anderson talks about the 1967 Ice Bowl between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.  Really terrific stuff, I hope you all take the time on this one.
