1. Red Raider of the Game
Cory Raley was great today, going 4-5 with 4 RBI's. He started off with an RBI single and ended the day with an RBI triple in the 9th. Accounting for half the offense today, it was Cory's turn to lead the team and he performed admirably.
2. Play That Impacted the Game
Tech started off the 1st inning almost perfectly, with leadoff batter Stephen Smith at 3rd base with only 1 out. Gardener doubled Smith in to start off a great hitting day for the team. The Red Raiders took advantage of the early base runners to make sure they capitalized on their chances, something that comes back to haunt them in losses.
3. Stat of the Game
Tech piled up 17 hits today, with Tyler Floyd the only Red Raider to come to the plate and not get a hit. The strength of this team is the depth of the lineup, and it showed today.
4. Forgotten Play of the Game
In the bottom of the 5th inning, with Tech up 4-1, the Cowboys started the inning with 2 singles and a wild pitch. After a strikeout, J.R. Davis singled, but Petrino was caught out at 2nd to not allow a run to score.
5. Big Reason Tech Won the Game
Steady hitting and scoring today was the theme, with runs in 6 of 9 innings. The 2nd inning was the only inning in which Tech was sat down in order, whereas OSU had that happen in 5 separate innings. The 3 pitchers combined to issue zero walks, and no errors were made either. A great win on the road as Tech wins another Big 12 series, and 9-straight conference games.
Game 3 from Stillwater starts at 1:00pm tomorrow
