Lubbock isn't necessarily the easiest place to travel to so the coaching staff usually hosts camps throughout Texas during the summer months, but that's coming to an unfortunate end.
DI Council also approves rule requiring FBS camps and clinics be conducted on a school's campus or in regular facilities.

The NCAA has ruled that satellite camps must come to an end and that schools must host camps on campus or regular practice facilities. The Texas Tech coaching staff hosts camps in the Dallas, East Texas and Houston each summer and use these camps as a huge recruiting tool. They are able to find some under the radar recruits and usually offer them shortly after the camp wraps up.
With this ruling, Texas Tech will have to play host to these camps and it appears they will have some set up for June and July. It'll be interesting to see how this affects recruiting since these satellite camps have been so pivotal for recruiting. Hopefully it won't hurt recruiting too bad.
