Texas Tech Beats Hawaii, 82-74

Texas Tech Men's Basketball is now 4-1.

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The first of Texas Tech's 8 consecutive home games was a win. The Red Raiders turned in a balanced performance, which included a huge come from behind segment in the first half. Coming into the game, Hawaii was undefeated, and we changed all that. The Red Raiders are now 4-1 on the season.

I'm really impressed with the turnaround offensively that Tubby Smith has given this team. Compared to last year we just seem to be shooting better and making better decisions with the ball. I especially like how we've been playing team basketball. We've been spreading the rock around to nearly everyone and it's turning out well. So far our only loss has been to a top 25 ranked Utah in Puerto Rico, so we're definitely sitting pretty right now.

We played without forward Isaiah Manderson today, who was home figuring his future out. It wasn't a huge blow, as he only played around 8 minutes per game, but I still love the way that Tubby Smith is handling it. He seems to be taking it in stride and not letting it affect the way he coaches or prepares.

All in all, this was a good team win. 4-1 is a great record. Next for the Red Raiders is Sam Houston State on December 2nd.
