Been doing a lot of homework the past week so I can write some post for the 2015 class this week (plus I was busy watching the Super Bowl yesterday). So no more reviews once again.

Here are some more updates:

Football 2015:

  • JF Thomas, 95 rated WR, visited Tech this weekend after adding Emmett Jones (his HC) to the staff. Not sure if he will flip from TCU or not.
  • Corey Dauphine, 94 rated RB, received an offer from Michigan, but he told them thanks but I'm sticking with Texas Tech.
  • Carlos Strickland, 90 rated WR, committed on Cal on Tuesday. Tech was still in the discussion after Strickland decommitted, but couldn't convince Strickland to recommit.
  • Jamile Johnson, 89 rated S, decommitted from Texas after visiting the Red Raiders this weekend. We could very well see Johnson sign with Tech on National Signing Day.
  • Darrion Daniels, 88 rated DT, committed to Oklahoma State over Texas Tech. The Tech legacy choose the Cowboys over the Red Raiders on National TV Friday night.
  • Arthur McGinnis, 86 rated LB, appeared to have named a Top 3 in Arizona, Tech and Oklahoma before deleting the tweet. He just visited OU and could choose the Red Raiders when it's all said and done.
  • Jarvis Baxter, 86 rated JUCO WR/DB, received an offer from Texas Tech on Sunday. He is currently committed to USF.
  • Henry Black, 85 rated CB, committed to Baylor on Friday. It was down to the Red Raiders and Bears before he choose Baylor.
  • Donta Thompson, 83 rated WR/TE, committed to the Red Raiders on Wednesday over Illinois. Donta became the 17th commitment (5th WR) and gives Tech a big, strong WR option.
  • Cody Thomas, 78 rated OT commit, talked with about this High School career and commitment to Tech. Go check it out.
  • Paul Banks III, 78 rated JUCO DB, committed to Texas Tech while on an official visit, becoming the 18th commit. Tech now has 2 DB commits for the 2015 class.
  • Evan McHugh, NR 2015 TE, committed to Tech as a PWO while on his visit to Tech. He is from Lubbock Cooper.
  • Johnny Crow, NR 2015 LB, committed to Tech on Wednesday to the Red Raiders as a PWO spot. He also visited Tech this weekend.
  • Nick Raby, NR 2015 DE, got a PWO walk-on spot at Tech, but committed to Memphis Sunday morning.

Basketball 2015:

  • Marcus Marshall, Missouri State transfer, is receiving interest from Texas Tech. He is their leading score. He scored 27 points against the Red Raiders in November.

Football 2016+:

  • Deontary Anderson, 96 rated 2016 S, received an offer from Texas Tech on Monday. The favorites for Anderson right now appear to be Alabama and Texas A&M.
  • Courtney Lark, 95 rated 2016 WR, committed to TCU while on Junior Day at TCU. Tech is one of his top interest before he committed
  • Christian Wallace, 91 rated 2016 S, received an offer from Texas Tech on Monday as well. The Katy product is currently committed to TCU
  • Devwah Whaley, 92 rated 2016 ATH, will visit Tech on the 28th, along with several 2017 recruits. That will be a big weekend for the Red Raiders.
  • D'Eriq King, 91 rated 2016 ATH, committed to TCU a couple weeks back. Don't know how I missed it, but that's another big target for Tech. Still a whole lot of options left for the 2016 class though
  • Chris Owens, NR 2016 OT, received an offer from Texas Tech on Tuesday, his 7th. He is the 3rd Arlington Lamar player from the 2016 class to be offered by the Red Raiders.
  • Marvin Wilson, 96 rated 2017 DT, received his 1st offer from Texas Tech this past week. Tech has been to his school multiple times to talk with Wilson

NORAD Kliff Tracker:

This will be the last Kliff Tracker for a while, with the dead period starting today and the evaluation period ending. The quiet period begins again after National Signing Day, so coaches can start talking to 2016 recruits after that. Let's see what the Red Raiders did in their final push before National Signing Day.

  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Eric Morris talked with Aubrey White (85 rated 2016 RB) from Wylie, TX. I'm not sure if he visited Wylie, but if he did so, he could've also talked with Eno Benjamin (NR 2017 RB). Aubrey White is currently committed to Kansas
  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Texas Tech stopped by Richardson HS to talk with Kahlil Lacy (NR 2016 WR) on Monday. They also looked at Pierce QB Hank Hudges.
  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Texas Tech apparently visited Lancaster HS this week. Not sure who they could've visited while they were there.
  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Zac Spavital visited Dallas Jesuit HS on Monday to look at few recruits. One recruit he could've looked at was Peyton Long (NR 2016 LB). Not sure who else they could've looked at.
  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Texas Tech paid a visit to Mike Williams (91 rated DT) at All Saints Episcopal. He was also looked at by Ohio State, Colorado and Purdue.
  • January 26th, 2015 (Monday) - Joe Esposito went recruiting in Tallahassee on Monday. Some players in Tallahassee are JUCO's Norbertas Giga (84 rated PF in HS) and Cameron Smith
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Kliff Kingsbury, Mike Jinks, and Kevin Curtis visited Quan Shorts (85 rated WR commit) on Tuesday. Quan has said he is fully committed to the Red Raiders.
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Joe Esposito went to Gainsville on Tuesday to look at some recruits. One player they could've looked at is Troy Baxter (91 rated 2016 PF)
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Texas Tech (likely Zac Spavital) went to Jersey City to talk with Christian Taylor (85 rated S commit). Christian hasn't had another offer and it appears like he'll sign with Texas Tech.
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Kliff Kingsbury, Mike Jinks and Kevin Curtis visited Lonzell Gilmore (78 rated DE commt) on Tuesday. He flirted with Baylor, be reassured his commitment later this week.
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Texas Tech was at Arlington Bowie on Tuesday, likely to talk with Madison Akamnonu (93 rated OT commit). He said on twitter he can't wait to sign with Tech on Nation Signing Day.
  • January 27th, 2015 (Tuesday) - Texas Tech was at Episcopal HS in Bellaire, TX on Tuesday. They likely looked at Marvin WIlson (96 rated 2017 DT) and Gio Pancotti (NR 2016 OT).
  • January 28th, 2015 (Wednesday) - Joe Esposito went to Charlotte to recruits on Wednesday. He could've looked at  Grant Williams (89 rated 2016 PF) or Eubka Izunda (NR 2016 C)
  • January 28th, 2015 (Wednesday) - Texas Tech visited JoJo Wicker (96 rated DT/DE) on Wednesday Night. Tech is trying to improve their D-line with Wicker's addition.
  • January 28th, 2015 (Wednesday) - Texas Tech officially visited Wylie HS on Wednesday.  Tech has a few targets at Wylie.
  • January 29th, 2015 (Thursday) - Kliff Kingsbury, Mike Jinks, Eric Morris and Trey Haverty visited Chris Warren III (96 rated ATH) on Thursday. Tech is going all in for the 4-star ATH.
  • January 29th, 2015 (Thursday) - Darrin Chiaverini visited La Mirada to visit with Tony Brown (82 rated WR commit). He expected to sign with Tech.
  • January 29th, 2015 (Thursday) - Texas Tech had an in-home visit with Tyron Johnson (97 rated WR). He is currently committed to LSU, but the Red Raiders are trying to flip him.
