BREAKING: Davis Webb To Colorado

Former Tech QB Davis Webb is headed to the Colorado Buffaloes

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It's been long speculated that Davis Webb would transfer for his grad school senior year. Where he was going to was the big question. Well, today it's official, Davis Webb will be a Colorado Buffalo

Webb was a starter for the 2014 season and parts of the 2013 season as a true freshman, throwing for 5,557 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions over his Texas Tech career. Webb was benched for current star sophomore Patrick Mahomes with three games remaining in the 2014 season. Despite not having the worst stats in the world, Webb was benched due to a combination of worst-possible-time turnovers and, if we're being honest, games lost due to a horrific defense.

Despite being benched to the delight of the fanbase, Webb remained a Red Raider, staying with the team to help with the development of Mahomes and lead in whatever way he could. This is completely opposite of the reactions of he-who-must-not-be-named. Webb was Texas Tech to the core, and bled scarlet and black until the day he decided that he would take his definitely earned shot at starting with the Colorado Buffaloes. He follows Outside Receiver coach Darrin Chiaverini, who as the new Colorado co-OC will likely implement a form of the Air Raid at Colorado.

Davis Webb was a Red Raider till the end, and I'm excited that he gets a chance at the playing time he deserves. Good luck to you Davis, you have a new pseudo Colorado fan in me.
