MOAR CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT
The Upset: Brigham Young has Big 12 offer | BCS football: Big 12 expansion options (Boise State, BYU), Missouri to the SEC (?) and more on realignment | College Hotline
Check out both links, and I think that Fileman G has linked to one or both of these sites. Anyway, the first link says that the BYU Cougars have a Big 12 offer in hand. The second link is from Wilner, everyone's favorite West Coast writer, who writes the following:
The Big 12, which currently has nine teams but may be down to eight very soon — if Missouri leaves for the SEC — is considering expanding to 12, according to sources.
Boise State, Brigham Young, West Virginia and Louisville are under consideration.
Wilner also writes that TCU is lower on the list because Texas doesn't want them (TCU fans, I personally welcome the Horned Frogs) and the other schools don't want another Texas school. I also don't understand why people are upset at Missouri for considering their options other than the Big 12. I don't think that Texas Tech has appeal to the SEC (maybe they should, but that's another discussion) and if Missouri can get into the SEC then I'd take it in a heartbeat if I was Mizzou. I could care less if someone "blames" Missouri for being the first Big 12 school to look elsewhere, if anything, they should get some credit for seeing the writing on the wall before anyone else. If I could snap my fingers and get Texas Tech out of the Big 12 mess and into a more stable conference I would.
Football links are after the jump.

Red Raiders football notebook: Crazy about coverage | Red Raiders | Football notebook: Kansas, team’s confidence after Nevada and more - The Daily Toreador: Sports
Two notebooks! The LAJ article mentions the tremendous special teams performance on Saturday, including the thought that the special teams coach is Ty Linder. Here's LB Daniel Cobb, who is excited to go out there and make plays:
"We were ecstatic about our special teams," Cobb said Tuesday. "Coach Linder always tells us he needs 10 warriors on this team. If you don’t want to run down full speed, let him know so he can find a replacement. We came out ready to play, and we had fun doing it."
Yes, I know, the jokes will write themselves.
From the DT, SS D.J. Johnson talks about what he sees in looking at the Kansas offense:
"We’re seeing formations. That’s the big thing," he said. "We’re seeing a lot of different formations that they really like to do and, I mean, they’re pretty much doing the same thing throughout the formations and we just have to have ours ready, be prepared to play our positions and do our job."
Waddle, Edwards solidifying O-line | Red Raiders
Good stuff on the offensive line and how they played last week:
Waddle graded out higher than any O-lineman we’ve had since I’ve been here," Tech’s second-year offensive coordinator said.
While praising Waddle, Brown commended left guard Lonnie Edwards in the same breath. They knocked enough holes in Nevada’s defensive front for running back Eric Stephens to go off for a career-best game of 26 carries for 134 yards.
"Last year, we definitely didn’t have the chemistry we do now," Waddle said of himself and Edwards. "It’s that cohesion
