Unfortunately the seven rounds of the NFL draft came and went with no Red Raiders hearing their name called. That wasn't totally unexpected but at the same time it was disappointing. The good news that a few guys got picked up as undrafted free agents and will get to chance to continue chasing their dream of playing football at the highest level. Hopefully they play well and can represent the Red Raiders in the NFL for years to come.
Bradley Marquez signed with the St. Louis Rams. I am a big Jeff Fisher fan, but I am not sure how Marquez fits in here. The Rams currently have eight receivers on the roster and signed another receiver to a free deal, Tyler Slavin from New Mexico Highlands. The Rams also have seven tight ends on the roster. That is a lot of players catching balls. They also seemed to have dedicated themselves to the run, which was evidenced more by the drafting of Todd Gurley.
VJ Fehoko signed with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns currently have ten linebackers on the roster including Karlos Dansby and Paul Kruger who are very solid linebackers. They also drafted inside linebacker Hayes Pullard from USC. We will see how Fehoko fits into the mix.
There are rumors of Kenny Williams has signed an undrafted free agent deal, but I haven't been able to confirm. I will update this story if his signing is confirmed.
Good luck to Bradley and VJ!
