The Red Raiders add another WR to their commit list.

DeQuan Bowman from Hutchinson CC (Kansas) has committed to the Red Raiders. At 5'11 180, he is projected to be an inside receiver. He joins the last week's commit Bryson Denley as an insider receiver commit. With Donte Coleman projected as a tight end and Antoine Cox-Wesley as an outside receiver, I assume we will only take one more outside receiver at most to round out this class at wide receiver. At least I hope that is all we take. We took six receivers last season and if we take 5 this year, that is 13% of your scholarships on one position in the span of two classes. I feel like that is dangerously close to being too many.
DeQuan is an unrated according to Rivals and Scout. Texas Tech was his only offering according to Rivals.
Drew will break his film for us on Thursday. Until then, here's is Bowman's film.
UPDATE:
Derrick Willies also pledged his commit to Texas Tech today. This has been a crazy seven days that has seen four receivers and a quarterback commit to the Red Raiders. Willies is a big receiver. He stands 6'4, 210 pounds out of Trinity Valley CC (Texas). I really like this kid's size. He will be the second outside receiver in this class with Cox-Wesley being the other.
He originally committed to Iowa out of high school where he redshirted for the 2013 season and played in five games last season before leaving the team in October. He transferred to Trinity Valley in January.
His highlights are below.
Current 2016 verbal commits:
Neiman Armstrong: DB, DeSoto
DeQuan Bowman: WR, Hutchinson CC (Kansas)
Antoine Cox-Wesley: WR, Cibolo Steele
Donte Coleman: TE, West Mesquite
Bryson Denley: WR, Cibolo Steele
Jett Duffey: QB, Mansfield Lake Ridge
Emoree Giddens, OL, Lubbock Coronado
Gio Pancotti: OL, Houston Episcopal
Da'Leon Ward: RB, Dallas Skyline
Derrick Willies: WR, Trinity Valley CC (Texas)
**For those keeping count that is nine offensive commits and one defensive commit at this point.
