Well the good times keep rolling for the Red Raiders. The last 10 days or so have seen 5 commits. Well put another on the scoreboard. This time it is a defensive lineman as Mychealon Thomas commits to the Red Raiders. He is a defensive tackle out of El Dorado Butler County CC in Kansas. He is the second defensive commit of the class and the first along the defensive line.
He graduated from high school as a 2-star recruit (Rivals) out of Dallas Skyline. He is currently listed at 6'2, 330 pounds. This is a huge get for the Red Raiders both literally and figuratively. The defensive line graduates six after the 2015 season, which leaves only six scholarship players, so we are in desperate need of immediate help. I would expect the coaching staff to take 1 or 2 more of these type guys. Ideally, we can mix that in with a handful of high school recruits along the defensive line and end up with a nice mix of players to help balance out youth and experience.
It is worth noting that his Rivals profile shows him with a Houston offer out of high school, so Gibbs is familiar with him and is comfortable with him. That is good enough for me.
Here is his video. Drew will breakdown it down soon enough. After watching it, my first impression is that he moves pretty well for a guy of his size.
