Most of us will never know the results of the investigation and how they actually stack up against the accusations levied by the series of articles written by Sports Illustrated. There was some pretty serious stuff in those words.
Whatever the truth of the matter, without better supporting information, 'the worse' will likely be the level of perception from most except the loyal orange fans.
I am sure the levies will make some impact on the program at Okie Light...it could have been a lot worse.
Orange Pride, as a university sponsored organization, now has a connotation linked to it that is a bit shady. I can see that being difficult to revive such a program--at least one called 'Orange Pride' although it can be real that pride will prevail.
From Dr Saturday:
"Orange Pride program, an all-female group who hosts recruits during visits to the school, "engaged in impermissible hosting activiities" over a four year period. As a result, the football team is not allowed to utilize the program for four years.
In addition to the four-year ban, the program is on probation from Friday to April 23, 2016, fined $5,000 and an additional $3,500 for the seven ineligible player games (at $500 per player). The university will self-impose a limit of 30 official visits per year and caches can participate in one fewer off-campus "evaluation" for the next year. The school will also self impose a 10 day reduction in evaulation days in the fall and spring over the next year."
Onward and forward, college football at its worse is, I suppose, part of the game.
