Texas Tech Adds OL To The 2015 Class

The Red Raiders add immediate help to their offensive line through a University of Houston transfer.

The Red Raiders added offensive lineman Emeka Okafor to their 2015 class. He will soon graduate from the University of Houston after which he intends to sign with the Red Raiders. Since he will be a graduate, he will be able to play immediately for the Red Raiders as a a senior. While he never started a game at Houston, Okafor did play in all 13 games for the Cougars during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

When Tech didn't use their full compliment of scholarships during the 2015 recruiting cycle, the smart money was on trying to add a few of these type guys. Paul Stawarz was the first late addition to the class and now Okafor joins the party. He will supply much needed depth to a very thin offensive line. He will also add size at 6'5" 320. It is worth noting that Coach Kingsbury was on the Houston staff during Okafor's recruitment and first season at UofH so he has some familiarity with him.

Coming out of Sunnyvale High School (TX), Okafor was a 2-star recruit with offers from North Texas and Houston according to Rivals.
