Texas Tech Golf Heads To Tulsa For The Big 12 Championship

The Men's Big 12 Golf Championship takes place at Southern Hills in Tulsa next week. The Red Raiders look to win their first title.

The Big 12 Men's Golf Championship will take place April 27th-29th at Southern Hills in Tulsa, OK. Oklahoma State is the host team this year. The Red Raiders come in with some momentum as they defeated the defending Big 12 Champs and #2 ranked Longhorns in match play this past Saturday. Prior to the upset of the Longhorns on Saturday, the #9 Red Raiders defeated #32 TCU as well.

The Men's Big 12 Championship will be comprised of a stacked field. Outside of the ranked teams already mentioned, Oklahoma (#16), Baylor (#17) and Oklahoma State (#19) are all ranked in the Top 25. It should be a hotly contested championship. The Red Raiders have never won the event, but they are the second highest ranked Big 12 team heading into the championship and are capable of capturing their first title.

The Red Raiders will be paired with the Longhorns and Sooners teeing off at 8am. Teams consist of 5 golfers with the lowest four scores from each round being used. The scoring is standard stroke play. 36 holes will be played the first day and 18 holes the following 2 days.

The awards ceremony will take place after the final round on Wednesday. You can follow the scores live on the Big 12 Sports website (here).

Good luck Red Raiders and Wreck ‘Em!
