THE PLAYER SPEAKS | Williams is set to make his announcement at 2:00 pm today and I'll update this article later tonight, but Williams and his coach made it all but official prior to the 2:00 pm announcement (via CantonPrep) where his coach talked about the type of player that Williams is:

"That’s a big-time success story," Noftz said. "He just kept getting better. He wasn’t a great outside shooter in high school. Now he’s knocking down at a 40 percent clip. That’s hard to do at a juco. They go 10 deep and try to play everybody."

SCOUTING REPORT | Williams game seems to translate really well to what Texas Tech needs. Williams is averaging 17.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and just 2.0 turnovers each game (via NJCAA). Williams is shooting 43% from the floor and 38% from beyond the three-point line.

Williams is a lights-out sort of athlete that has the ability to use the dribble to create for himself, get to the rim and finish. He's fearless in getting to the rim and with his size and height, he's able to do that at the JUCO level. He's got a really nice tight jump-shot that's pretty consistent, although I'm confused about how he kicks forward with each shot. He gets nice elevation on his jump shots. Obviously, his shooting percentage isn't great, but the fact that he can shoot so well from the three-point line let's me know that he is capable of shooting well. Williams looks like he's a threat to shoot from pretty much anywhere and isn't afraid to take shots with a man on him.

Williams has a pretty good handle and does a nice job finding teammates off of a dribble-drive and could offer a really nice option at the two guard and give the team an additional ball-handler and a guy that can create, which is something that I don't think that Hannahs or Gotcher can do all that well.

DeVaugntah, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
