SCOUTING REPORT | Stidham exploded onto the scene in 2013. As a sophomore, Stidham only attempted 3 passes, all completions and a handful of rushing attempts. Things changed in 2013 where he was just spectacular. Stidham completed 156 passes out of 254 attempts, for 2,613 yards, 30 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Add in 138 rushing attempts for 821 yards and 14 touchdowns and you have a star in the making and you can see why Stidham rose up the rankings as quickly as he did.

Stidham has as strong an arm as I can recall and he's incredibly mobile. I found it funny that Scout's critique of Stidham said that he lacks pocket awareness and I'm just not seeing this on film. He seems to have an incredibly awareness, especially considering how well he runs the zone read. Stidham has terrific form. He keeps the ball high around his chest and it's a compact motion that he repeats fairly consistently. Maybe Stidham's biggest issue is that he's not completing a high percentage of his passes, only 61%, but with just one year playing varsity, this seems like a minor quibble. That completion percentage is going to rise this year, most assuredly.

The most impressive part of Stidham's film? his ability to throw on the run. Holy cow is that impressive. The ball seems to lose very little, if any velocity, if he throws on the run.

Stidham's ability to tuck and run the ball is significant and adds another level to what he can do as a quarterback and keeps defenses honest. Stidham is plenty big enough to take on high school players and I think that ability will translate to the collegiate level too. He doesn't run recklessly

As you note on Stidham's offer list, it's not who has offered, it is who hasn't offered that's important. He is wanted by every college and don't let anyone tell you any differently. This is as significant of a commit for Texas Tech that I can remember. Stidham's commitment could result in an avalanche of other commits that want to play with Stidham.

SB Nation has a full scouting report on Stidham (via SB Nation).

Jarrett, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
