For starters, I was born at Methodist hospital before it became covenant, which is directly across 19th from TTU. My family all love two things TTU, and the Dallas Cowboys, but if you give anything at Christmas that is scarlet and black, it will be the first present stolen.

Growing up just South of Lubbock, my school colors were scarlet and black as well, so I always hoped I could play for Tech, but as luck would have it, I was never going to be big enough. They asked me to visit as walk on to be a long snapper, but when I saw how fast their 350 lb nose guard (Gabriel Rivera) was, I immediately realized how long I would survive weighing in at just over 200lbs.

Now, that I'm a Tech alum, life is just that much sweeter.
