Well here's a little bit of a surprise. On Thursday night, Texas Tech offered Cody Wheeler, an offensive guard from Allen, and literally not even a minute later, he committed to Texas Tech. He becomes the 5th Offensive Line commit and the 16th commit overall. I didn't review him before, but here are his measurables and ratings:

When I wrote my Possible Red Raiders post on Monday, I was trying to think of who Kliff Kingsbury specially visited at Allen, but I couldn't think of the name. Cody Wheeler was the name I was thinking. Wheeler's parents were both Tech alums, but he didn't have an offer for the longest time. He committed to North Texas in July and looked like he would stay committed there. However, when Kingsbury stopped by last week, he looked like he could flip. Finally, just an hour ago, Texas Tech offered and Wheeler immediately flipped to the Red Raiders. He apparently told Scout that if Tech were to offer, he would commit right away. He did exactly so.
Now let's look at what Cody Wheeler can do on film. What I like about Cody Wheeler is his versatility. He is listed as a guard, but can also play the center position. Wheeler has the ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line. I also like his ability to create holes. When he snaps the ball, he takes on one of the tackles and creates a hole up the middle of the running back. He also has the ability to switch men if he needs too. Finally, I like his movement. He can pull linemen and get down the field to block more linemen. He also has been in a winning program in Allen and knows how to win.

This is a good addition for the Red Raiders and likely the last offensive linemen addition. Chris Level said via Twitter that Riley Daniel could join the staff, and if Semisi Uluave commits, he likely would show up in 2017 (due to religious trip). Tech now has 16 commitments this class and still have work to do. They'll get roughly 3 Defensive Backs, another linebacker, a couple offensive linemen, a WR or two and maybe a QB (Tech started looking Gilmer QB McLane Carter ). It'll be an interesting two weeks.
