According to the Dallas Morning News Jordan Tolbert will not return his senior season at Tech.
This news comes as a shock to us as Jordan Tolbert has been one of our better players on the team since his freshman year. His presence in the frontcourt was with strength and power, and it will be greatly missed next year.
This news is coming right after learning of Dusty Hannahs leaving the basketball program. I could understand the Hannahs departure due to many reasons. Losing his starting role was the most prominent reason, and struggling at the end of the season.
Jordan Tolbert was almost guaranteed to be a starter at the Power Forward position. Though he has had his ups and downs in games, he would seem to have a great effort game followed by an underachieving effort.
It will open up another scholarship for the basketball team to recruit. But, the biggest team need will be to fill a Power Forward starting spot. Now that we have lost Jaye Crockett and Dejan Kravic due to exhausted NCAA eligibility (and Tolbert to a transfer) we have lost our entire starting frontcourt.
I hope Tolbert the best wherever he ends up.
