THE PLAYER SPEAKS | Jamison spoke about his new head coach and the process in making a decision about where he's going to attend college (via WreckEm 24/7):

"Tubby Smith, for one, he’s great," Jamison said. "He was there from Day 1 before the season started, he was out there watching me in Dallas. The first day, the first game, the first scrimmage at our little exhibition before the season – he came out three different times. They recruited me the best. I just had the strongest relationship with him."

And where he thinks he projects next year:

"I’m going to play alongside Jordan Tolbert," Jamison said. "I’ll play the five next year. With their team, the five and the four are kind of interchangeable because they do a lot of ball screens, you have to be able to guard the four and the five and play the four and the five. I really respected his game and wanted to play with him."

Jamison also talks about his relationship with assistant coach Joe Esposito and Tubby Smith (via DMN):

"I actually got a phone call from Coach Joe Esposito on Thursday," Jamison told Rivals.com before making his decision. "We have a great relationship. I love Coach Esposito. I talk to Coach Esposito about once a week and Coach Tubby Smith once every couple of weeks. I love them. They’re great. I can just really tell that they’re real big about caring for their guys and they’ll take care of you.

"In my opinion, he’s a Hall of Fame head coach. He has National Championship and Final Four experience, and he’s been successful everywhere he’s been. So it’s an honor to be recruited by him and be able to talk to him on a regular basis and stuff like that."

SCOUTING REPORT | Jamison is just a freshman, but he is eligible for this class. Jamison averaged just 20 minutes a game, but in those 20 minutes he averaged 10.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks a game (via NJCAA. Jamison shots 60% from the floor, which is totally awesome.

Jamison is a big body and the film is tough to see. Jamison is a big body and he's really tough to move. Don't let the 260 fool you, it's all there, but he's a fluid athlete that carries that weight well. In fact, some of the dunks that he displays at the beginning of his video are impressive. Quite impressive. He's got a nifty post-up game, but a lot of his points come off of misses, at least in the film I found. Jamison has a solid jump shot, it's not a work in progress and this isn't really a surprise considering he is a former pitcher in the Rangers minor league system. A solid jump hook in the lane, especially from the right block, and he knows how to seal opponents. He's still got some work to do in terms of really perfecting that post game, but he's capable of shooting with both hands from the block, which is something you just don't see that often.

Justin, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
