I was curious as to how much the ratings for all of the current commits for Texas Tech, excluding Justin Murphy who just committed to Texas Tech, I was curious as to how much the services have changed since these players have committed. Some things to keep in mind is that there has been zero football that has been played except for Jakari Dillard, who committed as a sophomore. Of everyone in this group, he is the only one that really could have improved his standing and it make sense. Every other player that has had an increase in rankings is a result of the evaluators themselves after committing to Texas Tech. You'll have to ask them how these players got better, or maybe they went off of a coach's recommendation, or the fact that they committed to Texas Tech, etc.

The other big issue is that ESPN hasn't really rated any players except for the absolute top players. That's sorta causing some issues with all of this, but whatever. The date is the date that I got around to writing the post and the "today" isn't actually today, but it was my lunch hour on June 12th.

QB Patrick Mahomes
4/24/2013: R 3* 5.7 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 87
Today: R 3* 5.7 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 87
Changes: Nada
Notes: This feels about right and I could see Mahomes sneaking up to a 4* rating by the time he's done.

RB Justin Stockton
1/21/2013: R N/R | S N/R | E N/R | 247 N/R
Today: R 3* 5.7 | S 3* | E 4* 80 | 247 3* 88
Change: 4 of 4
Notes: Stockton wasn't rated at all in January and now he's a very solid 3* and is one of just a few players that is rated by ESPN. It may mean that they think that Stockton is one of the better players in the country.

RB Demarcus Felton
4/18/2013: R N/R | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 84
Today: R 3* 5.6 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 84
Change: 3 of 4
Notes: Not rated by any service except for 247, which is going to be a theme. 247 rates almost every player or has rated them very early.

WR Jakari Dillard
8/13/2012:
R N/R | S N/R | E N/R | 247 N/R
Today: R 3* 5.5 | S 3* | E 4* 80 | 247 3* 87
Change: 4 of 4
Notes: As mentioned above, Dillard committed so early, that no one had a clue as to what he was. Again, according to ESPN, he's a 4* guy, so just something to consider.

IR Cameron Batson
4/23/2013: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 86
Today: R 3* 5.5 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 86
Change: 2 of 4
Notes: Rivals did this on a couple of guys, which is to bump the player up 0.1 of a point, from 5.4 to 5.5, which made them a 3* player.

WR Ian Sadler
4/25/2013: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 80
Today: R 3* 5.5 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 85
Change: 3 of 4
Notes: Like Batson, Sadler got a Rivals bump after committing and I think a 247 bump as well.

WR Byron Daniels
5/8/2013: R 3* 5.6 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 85
Today: R 3* 5.6 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 3* 85
Change: Nada
Notes: Daniels was wanted by Oklahoma St. and Oklahoma so it isn't a surprise that the services had everything they wanted on him.

OL Deionte Noel
4/17/2013: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 83
Today: R 2* 5.4 | S 3 | E N/R | 247 3* 83
Change: 1 of 4
Notes: Scout got their update in.

OL Mildren Montgomery
6/4/2013: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 N/R
Today: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 80
Change: 1 of 4
Notes: Not much time for a revision, but 247 evaluated him from earlier in the month, which is interesting to go from not rated to a 3* with an 80 grade in about a week.

DE L.J. Collier
2/10/2013: R N/R | S N/R | E N/R | 247 N/R
Today: R 3* 5.5 | S 3* | E 3* 78 | 247 3* 71
Change: 4 of 4
Notes: Another guy that committed so early that no one had anything on him. Pretty solid player at this point by all of the services.

CB Tevin Madison
4/26/2013: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 N/R
Today: R 2* 5.4 | S N/R | E N/R | 247 3* 87
Change: 1 of 4
Notes: It would not surprise me in the least for Madison to get a Rivals 5.4 to 5.5 bump. Was also evaluated by 247, which is interesting since Madison is in Alabama and that's really 247's biggest base, SEC country.

AT Derrick Neal
5/2/2013: R N/R | S 3* | E N/R | 247 4* 91
Today: R 3* 5.6 | S 3* | E N/R | 247 4* 91
Change: 1 of 4
Notes: I tend to think that Neal is going to be closer to a 4* player than a 3* player by the time it is all said and done. Maybe that's just being optimistic, but he's getting pretty close on Rivals.

So there you go. Of the players listed here, only 2 of them didn't have any change at all to their ratings while just about every other player did see some movement. And this will change again as ESPN has some serious catching up to do on all of their ratings, which will probably come out later this summer. So, I don't know if this is enough, or not enough change. Seems like ESPN needs to get their rear in gear and then we can have a better idea of maybe where some of these players stand.
