STATS | For the year, I think Martin finished up with 22 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT and 6 pass break-ups. It also appeared that Martin didn't play at all the first two games and then he appeared to be a regular of sorts.
SCOUTING REPORT | Another guy and another apparent position change? According to the teaser of this Scout article, Hill changed positions in May of 2012:
A player making the switch from offense to defense this year is L.A. Pierce CB Martin Hill (5-1, 185). Even though he's never played on the defensive side of the ball, the talented athlete has already reeled in three offers and more could be on the way...
Last year he played receiver as you can see highlights from last year under his Hudl profile where he's #8 and catching a bunch of passes. He's #24 as a cornerback. If Hill has never played defense before, he's got a pretty good feel for the game and he seems to have a pretty good idea of spacing and where he needs to be. He's not afraid to stick his nose on a running back and support the run. Hill plays a ton of safety and he gets turned around a bit on a couple of plays, but recovers quickly. I say that he plays a lot safety adn the reality is that he plays a lot of nickel bad with safety responsibilities at time. I think I like Hill's acceleration the most of all of his traits, once he makes a decision, he gets to his man pretty quickly.
Martin, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
The 2013 Class | I'm putting this off to Wednesday.
