THE PLAYER SPEAKS | Nothing free. I may have to delete this section with the way things are headed.
SCOUTING REPORT | Mt. San Antonio C.C. had Crawford playing a ton of man coverage, which means that if you watch his film, he's close to the receiver, and he immediately turns his rear to the quarterback to force the receiver to the sideline. He's physical enough where he can do that. Most of the clips that I worked through didn't even have a pass attempt really thrown his way so there's only so much I can tell. He stays with his man, but this is one of those situations where it is incredibly difficult to really tell what's happening. Crawford does have a pretty good knack as to when to put up his hand as the ball is on the way, that's always important when you're playing cornerback.
Crawford did play a bit of zone about the 1:26 mark where he intercepts the ball and returns it for a touchdown. You could see that he again has pretty good speed in relation to the rest of players on the field. There is a real opportunity for Crawford to start opposite of Bruce Jones or fight some other players like La'Darius Newbold, Jeremy Reynolds or someone else for that second cornerback spot. There are other players, and there are options, we just don't know if those players can play.
Dorian, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
