Mail call! What questions do you have on Tech athletics? And before you ask, we don't know why Scott Jordan won't sacrifice a live chicken to save the program. We just don't know.

I hate to say it and I hate it even more to give any nod to Texas A&M, but after the Aggies left the conference, the realignment shakeup conversations intensified more after that decision. The Big 12 has never been the same. And then to follow up that move, the University of Texas’s football program completely unraveled. It pains me to no end to say this, but if UT is not doing good, the Big 12 is not doing good. Take the the national radio programs with a grain of salt. UT is the bread and butter for the Big 12 in terms of putting money in their pocket and providing more national recognition. Even though Baylor, TCU and OU had pretty decent seasons, their legitimacy is always in question compared to UT. I don’t think Big 12 teams are okay with losing, but there could be something to say about the energy and mentality of the game compared to the SEC programs. The playing to win effect, is inherited from the coaches and athletes all the way to the student section. Also, we are the Big 12 with 10 schools. It looks ridiculous.

The odds of No. 4 Texas Tech baseball securing a conference championship are very high. They are hitting their stride right at the perfect time. They tied a bow on their midweek portion of the regular season with a 5-3 victory over Ohio State. The Red Raiders are 12-2 in midweek games. Tech baseball has great momentum heading into Morgantown to take on West Virginia tomorrow.

That’s a question we are all pondering on the Viva The Matadors staff. We can’t say it is not flashy enough to play for Kliff, especially if you’re a WR. We can’t say it is because of the facilities. We could assume it might have something to do with the coaching staff? The only thing I can think of is trying to play for a team with more national recognition in order to increase your draft stock. When you are winning football games, that comes with the territory, but Tech is not grabbing national attention. The “hot coach” attraction only lasts for a little bit and then it is about winning football games.

SEVEN WINS? If our goal is seven wins, then we have really settled for being the red headed child stepsister of all Texas D1 schools. I give up.
