Texas Tech's 2017 class added 4 JUCO commits (9 total for 2017) last week including a commitment from former Red Raider, Dakota Allen. As of now, the 2017 class has 21 commits but could still add a few more. We know that JUCO recruits have been the target as of late, but today I'll take a look at a few guys who could be some sneaky commits to fill out the 2017 class.
Travell Lumpkin | 5'10", 195 lbs | Running Back
Steele High School (Cibolo, TX)
24/7 | Rivals
| Scout
Texas Tech offered Travell Lumpkin way back in July 2015. This was when the Red Raiders first started pursuing Xavier Martin as well. According to Rivals, Lumpkin holds offers from Texas Tech, Colorado State, New Mexico and Houston. Last year the running game took a step back and they loss of Corey Dauphine leaves depth in question. The Red Raiders currently have JUCO commit Desmond Nisby, but adding one more running back would be a good move. We'll see if Xavier Martin's high school teammate joins him in Lubbock.
Tre Siggers | 5'8", 175 lbs | Wide Receiver
Duncanville High School (Duncanville, TX)
24/7 | Rivals
| Scout
The Red Raiders offered Tre Siggers in June 2015 and he took two unofficial visits shortly there after. According to 24/7, Siggers holds offers from Texas Tech, Louisville, New Mexico and Sam Houston State. Siggers might not be the tallest wide receiver, but he'd fit in nice at one of Texas Tech's slot positions. He's being recruited by Emmett Jones, who has great connections and knowledge of the Dallas-Ft Worth area. We'll have to see if Jones can work his magic and get Siggers in the Red and Black.
Damion Daniels | 6'2", 320 lbs | Defensive Tackle
Bishop Dunne High School (Dallas, TX)
24/7 | Rivals
| Scout
Damion Daniels was offered by Texas Tech last April. He currently holds 28 offers according to 24/7 with some of those schools being Nebraska, TCU, Florida, Iowa, Colorado, Baylor, Texas, Ole Miss, and Michigan. As you can see, he holds a ton of offers from high-profile schools. One thing Texas Tech has going for it is that Daniels is a Texas Tech legacy. Although his brother Darrion chose Oklahoma State over Texas Tech in 2015, Damion could juke out everyone and go with the Red Raiders. While it's a long shot, I'll keep my fingers crossed that Daniels finds his home at Texas Tech.
