Three-Star Offensive Lineman Decommits from Texas Tech

The Red Raiders lost a recruit for 2017 on Thursday.

Dylan Weaver, a three-star offensive tackle from Farmington, New Mexico, announced on Thursday via Twitter he is decommiting from Texas tech.

Weaver was recruited by offensive coordinator Eric Morris and visited Texas Tech on October 14th. He originally committed to the Red Raiders on June 7th, just four days after Tech made him an offer on June 3rd. Tech is just one of four colleges Weaver has on his list according to 247 Sports. The others are Georgia State, New Mexico, and San Diego State.

With a lack of depth and several young players on the offensive line going into next season, I expected Weaver to come in and contribute. The Red Raiders still have some solid offensive line recruits for 2017 in Jack Anderson, Dawson Deaton, Will Farrar, Casey Verhulst, and as of yesterday Jacob Hines. Good luck Dylan! Red Raider Nation wishes you the best going forward!
