The Lady Raiders (5-2) take on the UT-Pan American Lady Broncs (6-5) this afternoon at The USA in Lubbock at 3:30pm CST following the men's basketball game. This is the 3rd meeting between these teams with Tech leading the series 2-0.
This will be the 2nd game that Amber Battle is allowed to play following her six game suspension. The Lady Raiders have had an 11 day break for exams following their win over Abilene Christian (61-44).
The UT-Pan American Broncs are led by Sophomore Guard Shawnte Goff who averages15.9 ppg and 3.6 rpg and is a very good at getting Steals. She is supportd by Senior Guard T'Ondria Nolen who gets 4.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg; Junior Forward Rickell Preston averages 6.2ppg and 5.3 rpg; Freshman ForwardBjörg Kjartansdóttir averages 6.2 ppg and 4.1 rpg; Senior Center (6' 2") Brittany Bush gets 7.0 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
The Starters for tonight's game are: Sophomore Guard Minta Spears who is averaging 11.6 ppg and is 80% accurate at the charity stripe; Junior Guard Rayven Brooks had 7.9 points and 3 rebounds and Assists; Freshman Forward Dayo Olabode at 6'2" has 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds and 2 Assists; Senior Forward Kelsi Baker averages 11.4 ppg and 6.3 rebounds; and Senior Guard Amber Battle averages 13 ppg and 11 rebounds.
