Texas Tech Thursday Morning Notes - Highs and Lows Edition

Double-T Nation News:

Last night I posted a retrospective of Coach Knight's recruiting classes and would like to thank to DTN reader Stroot who noted that 2001 was actually Knight's first class, so please see his update in the comments.

It is extremely quiet on the news front this morning. Knight received an education award, kudos to Knight for continuing what he started. Here's some ESPN bloginess about Keanon Cooper. Finally, Rivals.com's Olin Buchanan has his top questions for 2008.

Texas Tech Basketball:

Good work from LAJ's Jeff Walker this morning, featuring Mike Singletary and his progress this season. Here's Singletary comparing the season with his progress:

"I think in both ways there have been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of highs and lows," Singletary said Wednesday as the Red Raiders prepare for Saturday's Big 12 Conference game against Oklahoma State. "There have been games where we've played well and there have been games, like Texas, where we haven't played well. Personally, it's been that way for me, too, a lot of highs and lows."

Singletary also talks about the adjustment to playing Division I basketball:

"The most difficult adjustment has been how hard you have to work every practice and every game," Singletary said. "Everybody at this level is as good as you are. It's not like that in high school.

"In high school, it was a lot easier because I was just stronger than most kids. Now, they're just as strong and some are quicker or better so you've got to work hard all the time."

Walker also notes that that Decensae White has officially enrolled at Santa Clara.
