Texas Tech Tuesday Morning Notes - A Couple Guys Edition

Double-T Nation News:

Lots of notes from around the blogosphere, some of which is Texas Tech related, most of which is not:

Texas Tech Football:

LAJ's Don Williams talks with new commitments, Skyline (TX) safety Keanon Cooper(6-0/195) and Camden Fairview (AK) defensive end Brian Christopher (6-4/240). Here's Cooper on Texas Tech:

"I enjoyed the visit when I went there,'' Cooper said. "The coaching staff is great. The players are real cool. Everything's good.''

Cooper played defensive end and outside linebacker in high school last year, but Williams notes that Cooper will move back to safety for Texas Tech. Here's Cooper on the switch:

"The position I've been playing (4-3 outside linebacker) is basically the same thing,'' Cooper said, "so I don't think it'll be a problem.''

Christopher is a guy the staff has been working on for quite some time:

"I had known coach (Lincoln) Riley I think a year prior to that,'' Christopher said. "Coach (Mike) Leach had come to our complex here in Camden. They had kept up with me, and I grew a relationship with Coach Riley. That's what I based my decision on. I hit it off real well with Coach Riley, and I hit it off with Coach Leach later on.''

Williams also has an update on Chandler Hill, E.J. Holub's grandson, who is hoping to be a preferred walk-on at receiver for Texas Tech.

I did appreciate DMN's Todd Willis' quote from Cooper regarding playing at Texas Tech:

"They [Texas Tech] have the best offense in the nation," said Cooper, a SportsDay first-team All-Area selection. "All they need is a couple of guys to stop a couple of guys and they can have a good defense."
