University of Miami DT Chris Perry to Transfer to Texas Tech

The link isn't permanent, but according to LAJ's Don Williams Chris Perry a 6-3/319 defensive tackle who played last year for the University of Miami is transferring to Texas Tech. Perry will enroll in this spring semester and will have 3 years of eligibility. Here's Perry on coming to Texas Tech:

"I just wasn't adapting to it the way I needed to,'' Perry said. "I always thought Texas Tech was pretty cool. Since I signed or whatever, I've been thinking over which schools would have been cool to check out. I thought I coulda/shoulda checked out Texas Tech before I signed.''

And here's Perry on Coach Leach:

"He's just a cool dude,'' Perry said. "He's highly respected in the college football world, and every season he's coached at Tech they've gone to a bowl game and they've been better and better each year.''

Williams also notes that Perry was also talking with OU before committing to Texas Tech.

Here is his Rivals and Scout pages.

Chris, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
