Big 12:
Wow! BON started a very interesting series called Smart Football, Scheme Stability and they ask questions of Chris from Smart Football. I didn't have time to really get into Chris's website, but the first post I read on his site certainly piques my interest: What Killed the Run and Shoot? I've already added Chris's website to my Google news reader and if you click on any of the above links, you might just waste your entire day.
Yes, I'm a little slow to the news, but yesterday, the sanctions came down against OU, which include forfeiting their wins in 2005. Oklahoma Sooners Blog does an excellent job of reminding all of us as to why OU was being punished by the NCAA as well as the official response from OU President David L. Boren and Bob Stoops. Here's EDSBS's response and I couldn't agree more, the NCAA will be watching the Sooners, not because of this most recent football violation, but because of the combination of this and the violations involving former coach Kelvin Sampson. Crimson and Cream Machine thinks the punishment is nothing more than a slap on the wrist and I can't really disagree.
Texas Tech Football:
ESPN's Blue Ribbon preview of Texas Tech ($) is posted. Like all subscriptions, I have not paid for ESPN Insider, although I'm sure it's really in depth (I read the A&M preview earlier in the day as it was free) so it's probably a good read.
Update [2007-7-12 10:41:31 by Seth C]: Loyal DTN reader, CubbieRaider, said that the Blue Ribbon Review had a few errors and thought that it might have been written before the spring. Just thought you should have the perspective of someone who's actually read the review rather than my assumption (Note to self: don't ever, ever assume). Thanks CubbieRaider
Texas Tech Baseball:
CSTV posted a Q & A with Texas Tech outfielder, Roger Kieschnick. Not as many baseball questions as you might think, but I think that's a good thing. Here's Roger's thoughts on Coach Spencer and Coach Petrie:
Definitely, I'm excited about getting with those coaches and I look forward to next year. I've told some of the other players on the USA team that we are getting the Oregon State coach and we're getting Coach Petrie and they were like `wow' and were excited for us. They are both really good coaches.
