Red Raider Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is having a big month. To wit:
June 8th he was named to the ABCA All-Midwest Region team:
Texas Tech sophomore outfielder Roger Kieschnick was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association all-Midwest Region second team on Thursday.
Followed just a few days later by player of the week honors:
Texas Tech outfielder Roger Kieschnick was named the D-Bat Player of the Week for the opening week in the Texas Collegiate League...
Finally he wrapped it all together on Sunday with an invitation to join the 2007 National Team:
Kieschnick, a two-year starter for Tech, is expected to be one of the top juniors in the nation in 2008.
Junior right fielder Roger Kieschnick will be making his second appearance with Team USA this summer as he was extended an invitation by USA Baseball to be part of the 2007 National Team...
Admittedly I am not a huge College Baseball fan and did not follow them closely last year, but I'm making the effort. Congratulations to Roger Kieschnick on all his accomplishments and for representing the Red and Black so well.
"It's really exciting to be invited back to Team USA," said Kieschnick. "It's an honor to be able to wear the Red, White and Blue and represent the United States and Texas Tech. Hopefully my experiences from last summer will help me and I can provide some leadership on the team and we can go out and win another gold medal."
