Sunday Morning Notes

Texas Tech Football:

In NFL news, it appears that Red Raider favorite, Wes Welker, is going to sign an offer sheet with New England.

Texas Tech Basketball:

LAJ's Jeff Walker recaps last night's game. Coach Knight commented on the play of the bench:

"I mentioned the other day at the half of the Baylor game and Pat (Knight) mentioned it too that we hadn't gotten anything off our bench," Tech head coach Bob Knight said. "(Saturday) Damir (Suljagic) did a really good job on defense for us and the steal (Alan) Voskuil made was big for us, and he played good defensively."

I couldn't agree more, Suljagic, White, and Voskuil all played big roles in last night's victory.

FWST's Wendell Barnhouse believes that Tech still needs one more victory to assure themselves of a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Here's a listing of this week's Big 12 Tournament games.

Texas Tech Baseball:

Tech lost game two of this weekend's three game series, 8-3 to Cal State Northridge. Senior Colt Hynes had a rough outing as he pitched only 4.0 innings, gave up 8 hits, 4 runs (2 earned), walked 2 and struck out 3. Catcher Matt Smith did manage a home run, but the offense was largely ineffective as the Red Raiders left 10 men on base.

LAJ's Don Williams (who is taking a sabbatical from football I suppose) wraps up yesterday's game.

The final game of this 3 game series is set for today at 1:00 p.m.
