Tuesday Morning Notes

Texas Tech Football:

The Daily Toreador has some computer generated images of what Jones Stadium will look like. The columns remind me of Soldier Field and I like it.

I'll be posting the linebacker position tomorrow and the secondary a little later in the week.

Texas Tech Basketball:

New poll up at the right. Do your civic duty and vote.

Not much time this morning, and not much news out there. Rich Cirminiello of Fox Sports provides his Hoops and Helmets Rankings, which is a combo ranking of football and basketball. Tech checks in at #19 and the number in parentheses is last year's ranking:

19. Texas Tech (58)

Tech football went 8-5, but waited until the final game of the 2006 season to deliver a truly memorable moment. Trailing by 31 points to Minnesota in the Insight Bowl, the Red Raiders engineered the biggest comeback in bowl history, winning a thriller 44-41. Bob Knight's kids lost five straight at one point in the season, but 21 wins was enough to put them in the dance, where they lost in the first round.

DTN takes a look at some of the Red Raiders' numbers, post-basketball season.

Texas Tech Baseball:

Starting second baseman Willie Rueda is out for the remainder of the year.
