Texas Tech Wednesday Morning Notes - Throw Tomatoes At Me Edition

Texas Tech Football:

We have a little news on the UCLA coaching rumors, one of them involve Mike Leach and the other does not. FWST's Dwain Price had some college notes yesterday, but I missed this as Texas Tech's spokesman Chris Cook confirmed that UCLA has not contacted Texas Tech to talk with Leach:

Leach could not be reached for comment, and Tech spokesman Chris Cook said UCLA hasn't asked for permission to interview the coach.

Bruins Nation also found this on Boise State coach Chris Petersen from the LA Times:

"If I'm at your press conference four days from now, throw tomatoes at me," he added. "I'm not a candidate. It's not a good fit for me."

Snip

"That's a great place," Petersen said of UCLA. "Somebody is going to do well there."

I have no idea if this is just posturing, but it doesn't sound like it is. Additionally, it doesn't sound like Texas Tech has been contacted by UCLA. I wonder how quickly UCLA is moving on this coaching search and how

Former Texas Tech's defensive backs coach Dave Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday posthumously.

Texas Tech Basketball:

LAJ's Jeff Walker writes this morning that these Red Raiders do not need to the opposition lightly. Walker points to the lack of a post game and mentions Suljagic's injury, however, I can't help but think that Suljagic's injury is the least of the teams' concerns, because I think it's the inability of the team, in particular the post players inability to create down low, to score that's the issue. Suljagic being more of a defensive player wouldn't seem to solve the problem.

DMN's Brandon George reports that Coach Knight will be back on the bench tonight.
