Work kept me away from DTN all day and Rob from The Good Ol' Blog sent me a number of emails updating the situation regarding Virginia cornerback Chris Cook and running back Mikell Simpson. I'll let Rob take it from here:
"Sounds like there's some serious doubt whether Virginia's starting cornerback Chris Cook or the potential offensive MVP Mikell Simpson will be playing in the bowl game. Keith Payne and rarely used backup Andrew Pearman would be the next in line to play at running back -- but it would be difficult to replace the most explosive offensive weapon. Dowling and Vic Hall would likely man the corners, though losing a starter in the secondary would obviously be a tough blow against the Red Raider air attack."
Lastly, Rob says that there is some uncertainty regarding their status.
