Texas Tech Monday Morning Notes - Not Really Good Edition

Double-T Nation News:

There's not much out there this morning, again. I meant to write the review of the TT/NM game, but family obligations kept me busy yesterday. I'll try to get to this tonight.

Enjoy the wide receivers preview.

Texas Tech Basketball:

LAJ's Jeff Walker discusses the idea that these Red Raiders are wasting opportunities for quality wins. Walker notes that Texas Tech had three chances against quality opponents, only to come away empty handed. Walker is talking about the New Mexico, Sam Houston State and Centenary, while the Butler loss was simply against a better opponent. Here's Coach Knight on the team itself:

"We're certainly not a really good team, but we have played well in minutes and we've played well through a couple of games," Tech head coach Bob Knight said following Saturday's 17-point loss, the largest margin of defeat by the Red Raiders this season. "... We have to develop a consistency of play throughout that we don't have."

This is me editorializing, but there's just no way that this team is an NCAA team. The magic that Coach Knight worked last year with what I believed to be the most un-athletic frontcourt in the NCAA tournament which included Jon Plefka, Daryl Dora and Suljagic. I don't like lowering expectations, I want to and expect to make it to the NCAA tournament each and every year, but this year, I just don't see it with this team. Of course, I don't think I'm telling you anything that you don't know.
