Texas Tech Monday Morning Notes - Real Adversity Edition

Texas Tech Football:

LAJ's Don Williams focuses this morning the two straight losses and how the team will recover. Here's Coach Leach:

"I don't think the specific teams are the issue as much as obviously I think we can play better than we did (Saturday),'' Leach said. "I think we didn't get a lot of breaks, but we didn't make any breaks. The first half, I just felt like we needed to turn it loose a little bit more. I thought we played real well the second half once you get past the turnovers, but we turned it over too many times to be successful.''

"There's a lot riding on this besides just next week,'' he said. "We've got a lot of young guys that can overcome adversity, learn to grow together and build on it for a long time to come. It's very important that we get over it and that we go out there and play well.''

Don also turns in his Red Raiders Football Notebook and notes the absolute lack of rushing:

"I felt like we should have run it a little bit more,'' Tech coach Mike Leach said. "The other thing is, we found ourselves in holes enough times that that wasn't necessarily the best way to go about it. As far as runs go, shuttle passes, screens, things of that nature essentially amount to that with regard to us, but I thought we should have run it a little more.''

I still want to see more running plays and can't figure out for the life of me as to why a line that's as big as it is can't freaking mow over defenders. I know it's the blocking scheme, but my frustration is wearing thin.

Big 12 and College Football:

SAEN's Tim Griffin has his Big 12 Notebook and again states that Harrell needs to keep it simple . . . The DMN goes Around the Big 12 . . . FWST's Jimmy Burch tries to figure out the mess that is the Big 12 standings . . .
