Leach Reportedly Visits With Miami AD

Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News is reporting that The Miami Herald believes that Mike Leach has met with Miami AD, Paul Dee.

Gerald Myers had this to say in the DMN article:

"I have heard nothing from anybody from Miami," Myers said Monday night. "I was with Coach Leach [Sunday]. He has said nothing about this. As far as I'm concerned, it's still speculation from the media until I hear something from Coach Leach."

And this from the Miami Herald article:

Leach had an informal discussion later Monday with Dee in New York, where both are visiting for the National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame Induction tonight at the Waldorf Astoria, according to a person close to Leach and his coaching situation, as well as another person involved with college coaching.

Leach, 45, is in New York with his wife, Sharon.

It is believed that Leach's agent, Gary O'Hagan, had previous contact with Dee, and that Leach is very enthusiastic about the job opportunity.

This is horrible news, this literally makes my stomach turn.  If Tech loses Leach then I truly believe that it will set the program back 3 or 4 years.  I'll try to get to more of this as we have more concrete details, but this is very discouraging.

UPDATE: Completely unconfirmed I heard on The Ticket, a Dallas sports radio station, that there have been press conferences scheduled this afternoon in Miami and in Lubbock. There is no written confirmation of this rumor and the radio hosts couldn't confirm or deny this rumor. I'll try to keep you posted throughout the day.

If anyone has any news, please feel free to post in the Diary Section.
