Being 10 years removed from being a student at Tech, I was not aware of Project 880 until DMN's Tim MacMahon pointed it out. The thing that Knight wants more than anything else are for the Texas Tech students and community to see basketball and fill the arena. So for the next 4 games:
- Saturday, December 23 Bucknell 3:30 pm
- Thursday, December 28 UNLV 8:00 pm
- Monday, January 1 New Mexico 11:00 am
- Saturday, January 6 Oklahoma 12:30 pm
For those of you who are in Lubbock, I implore you to go to the games, support Coach Knight and support Texas Tech basketball. Even if you have a problem with Coach Knight go see these kids play. They are really starting to gel and play well as a team.
In other news, LAJ's Jeff Walker has a game recap and an update of Jackson's ankle injury and Valentine's shoulder injury:
Valentine suffered a separated left shoulder, though Murray said the 5-foot-6 guard shouldn't miss any games either.
"It's kind of like a football injury when a quarterback gets slammed to the ground," Murray said. "Benny's not going to feel good for a number of weeks, but we'll see how he deals with the pain. A lot will depend on how he responds, but he shouldn't be out for more than three or four days if he can handle it."
Finally, for your Sunday morning coffee, Tim Griffin of the SEN give you a fairly lengthy and well written Big XII roundup. Nothing earth-shattering, but something to keep you busy this morning.
