Thursday Night Football Notes

There's a few football stories, most of them dealing with the current bowl situation, which most writers tend to believe that Tech is either going to the Alamo Bowl or the Texas Bowl.  Tim Griffin of the EN grabs a quote from Alamo Bowl executive director, Derrick Fox:

"The most likely pool for our bowl still is Texas Tech, Kansas State and Missouri, but there are potential situations with Texas," Alamo Bowl executive director Derrick Fox said. "It would be an exciting opportunity because Texas is one of the most storied programs in college football, they are just up the road from us and are the defending national champions."

Most of the article deals with UT's opportunities, but it's nice to see that the Alamo Bowl is still considering Tech.

There's another article from the Houston Chronicle which discusses the fact teams are apparently clamoring to be invited to the Alamo Bowl.  Personally, I find that hard to believe considering that the game is only going to be televised on the NFL Network.

We'll know a lot more after the Big XII Championship on Saturday.  You should check out Corn Nation and Crimson and Cream Machine for some really good content regarding the game.

Finally, Sonny Dykes is still being considered for the Arizona offensive coordinator job and is staying the weekend.
