Is anyone really surprised?
Texas Tech’s Jace Jung has been named to the First Team All-American Squad after his 2021 Big 12 Player of the Year Campaign. Jung became the first underclassman to win Big 12 POY before the conference tournament. The accolades surely will continue to flow in for Jace. Jung hit .342 this season with an OPS of 1.192. He led the Big 12 with 20 homers and finished second with 65 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Cal Conley was named to the Second Team All-American Squad after his Big 12 First Team selection earlier this year. Conley finished with a .337 batting average with an OPS of .989. He also had 13 homers and 52 RBIs on the year.
The Red Raider middle infield is one of the best in the country so it is good to see it being acknowledged.
Congrats to Jace and Cal on their outstanding season thus far, but both have more work to do. First up is wrecking the Lubbock Regional!
