The wait is over and the results are in! Texas Tech has earned a top 8 seed, guaranteeing that the good guys will host through the Regional and potential Super Regional.
The Red Raiders will be joined in the Lubbock Regional by UCLA, UNC, and Army.
Tech should be a heavy favorite in the regional, with the biggest potential spoiler being UCLA. We will dive deeper into these matchups in the coming days but for now it is time to celebrate the seeding!
Tech was a borderline top 8 seed heading into OKC, and you have to imagine the Red Raiders must have been safer than was assumed as they largely flopped in the tournament. Whatever the case, series wins over TCU and Texas proved valuable as the Big 12 would end up with 3 top 8 seeds (Texas at #2 and TCU at #6). Tech has been a far better team at home and with 100% occupancy allowed for this post season it will be a rocking venue. Now let’s start off by wrecking Army!
