Reunited and it feels so good!
DeAndre Washington was a four-year player for the Red Raiders and the fifth leading rusher in school history. His best seasons came playing behind Mahomes, where he had 3308 scrimmage yards and 20 total touchdowns in just 2 seasons. Washington was a Texas Tech fan favorite with his great quickness, ability to catch the ball, and determination to score.
Washington was selected in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Washington had spent his entire NFL tenure with the Oakland Raiders. In four seasons he had 1122 rushing yards on 282 attempts (4.0 Y/A) and seven rushing touchdowns. Last year he was also utilized in the passing game, bringing in 262 receiving yards.
The former First Team All-Big 12 player joins a deep running back position in Kansas City. Hopefully we will get to see plenty of Washington on the field lined up behind another great Red Raider, Patrick Mahomes.
