Jordyn Brooks is the newest Red Raider in the NFL. The linebacker was seen scattered throughout many mock drafts that had him going to many different places. The majority of mock drafts had Brooks getting picked in the second or third round. It’s no surprise to any Texas Tech fans that this is where Brooks got picked, as he is clearly a first round talent. Pete Carroll, a coach known for building exceptional defenses, clearly saw just how talented Brooks is.

Brooks brought in 66 solo tackles, 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble during his senior campaign. Brooks was mainly used as a pass rusher in the Texas Tech defense last season, but he also has the ability to drop into coverage. It’ll be interesting to see how Carroll decides to use him as a linebacker. Red Raider Nation, time to buy some Seahawks gear!
